La Cav- Chile’s largest wine club, La Cav stands for the “Club Amantes de Vino” (Wine Lovers Club) and sounds a lot like cava, or cellar. They also publish a regular magazine, and one of Chile’s authoritative restaurant guides with the 100 best spots across the country. In addition, they produce a number of events including special sales, classes, wine paring events and sponsor a number of others.

Although many of these options are not geared for tourists or short term residents. They also have some alternatives that could be of interest. Apart from being a good information point on Chilean wine, they have stores in the Costanera Center and Alto Las Condes malls. The latter includes a restaurant.

Vinoteca- Another great place to buy wine, beer or spirits. La Vinoteca is a distributor and retailer of wines and plenty of other treats, and with their scale they tend to have great deals and access to the surplus of great wineries. They also host tastings and occasional events.

Their store locations include one on Manuel Montt in Providencia (listed below) and another in Vitacura on Nueva Costanera.

Mundo de Vino- Another powerhouse in the sale of wine, and one of the most complete stores in Santiago, with the added bonus of having more retail stores than some of the other alternatives. Mundo de Vino includes monthly promotions, recommendations from Master Sommelier Hector Vergara, imported wines, and generally carries some of the more expensive, exclusive vintages like Viñedo Chadwick’s 2014 100pt winner. They also have plenty of spirits, (but not a single bit of beer ).

You can also find information on their website, and they sell wine themed books and guides, like Patricio Tapia’s “Descorchados”, Chile’s main wine review. Their weak point is they lack many of the small producers and even some or the notable larger wineries do not work with them.

Santiago Wine Club- A wine club and retailer that is dedicated to Chile’s small batch producers. They have been able to pack many great options into a very small space in Barrio Lastarria, where they also sell some gourmet products, spirits and craft beer. Most of the labels found here are impossible to find in the larger wine stores, much less the supermarket.

But what makes the Santiago Wine Club standout is their personalized service, and ability to recommend (in English, Spanish or French) different labels you’ve never heard about based on your specifications. They also have discounts for buying packs and special promotions.
