We pick you up in Santiago in an air-conditioned van with professional driver and transport you
through the Curacavi valley and Casablanca wine region to Valparaiso, a port city granted UNESCO
World Heritage status in 2002. Home to artists, poets and musicians; steep hills, cobbled streets,
colored houses and even more colorful walls; and fast becoming a gastronomic destination for
visitors and locals alike.

We’ll meet your local guide in the main square, Plaza Sotomayor, and you’ll hear some of the history
of this port city, learn about its favorite hero, and how the very land you’re standing on was
reclaimed from the sea. You will see beautiful old buildings reflecting the lost wealth of the past and ride one of Valparaiso’s famous antique funiculars servicing the winding and colorful hilltop streets.

Wander the many cobbled streets, passages and staircases as you learn about Valparaiso’s golden
years as one of the most important ports in South America. Marvel at the colorful streets and
architecture as you hear stories from your local guide, and witness how the city has evolved into an
artistic and gastronomic destination.

Along the way, you will have the chance to sample some of Chile’s favorite foods; a famous SouthAmerican cookie, Chile’s favorite food, a Chilean drink and other typical dishes, and Chile’s favoritedessert – ice cream, with a flavor you may have never seen before. Take a well-deserved rest with a traditional cocktail and some of Chile’s famous seafood, all while enjoying arguably the best view over the port and the city below.

You will then head to the workshop of a local artisan to enjoy a unique experience of chocolate,
wine and art, with a special chocolate and wine pairing. These special chocolates are made with
organic products and some surprise fillings, delivering a sensory experience of gourmet chocolate,
and Chilean wine.

By the end of your tour, you’ll have a great feel for this charismatic city, its people the “Porteños”,and some of their favorite eats and treats. Enjoy a majestic view over the city and the Pacific as you leave town on your way back to Santiago.
