Valparaiso & Viña del Mar Highlights Tour

We pick you up in Santiago with professional driver and transport you through the Coastal
Mountain range to Valparaiso, a port city granted UNESCO World Heritage status in 2002. Home to
artists, poets and musicians; steep hills, colored houses, and cobbled and colorful streets.

Visit La Sebastiana, ex-home of Nobel prize winning poet Pablo Neruda, providing a heart-stopping
view over the harbor, and featuring a chaotic collection of ships’ figureheads, glass, 1950s furniture
and artworks by Neruda’s famous friends. After your visit, you will meet your local guide in Plaza Sotomayor, the main square, where you can see the monument honoring the 1879 Naval Battle of Iquique. Take a ride on one of the famous antique funiculars up one of Valparaiso’s many hills, walk along a paseo where you can see some local artisans and spend some time admiring the view.

Hear about Valparaiso’s golden years as one of the richest cities in the world and the most important port in South America, and its sad decline after the opening of the Panama Canal. Marvel at the colorful streets and architecture as you hear stories of its somewhat rebellious culture and how the city has evolved into an artistic and gastronomic destination.
We’ll give you some time to enjoy lunch in a place of your choice.

Take a drive along the coast to popular Viña del Mar for a look around this popular seaside cityopportunity to visit beautiful sites such as La Quinta Vergara and Palacio Vergara, considered some of the greatest heritage value in Viña del Mar. Visit Palacio Rioja, a French-style palace built in 1906 and the beautiful Botanic Gardens that covers 40 hectares with more than 800 species of flora. Drive past Museo Fonck where you will see an original moai from Rapa Nui, and see the early 20th century casino and famous flower clock, built in Switzerland and acquired by the city in 1962.

After your day visiting these twin coastal cities, we’ll transport you back to Santiago.
