Examine Chile’s culture through the eyes of a growing pool of contemporary Chilean artists and enjoy the Art and Gallery Tour in Santiago. The number of working galleries and museums in Santiago has grown radically over the last 10 years, and offers a visitor the perfect path to explore through different neighborhoods, architecture, stories, imagery and objects.

We will pick you up at your hotel at 10am, and then visit the following spaces: (If not available an alternative will be offered)

Museo de la Solidaridad Salvador Allende.

A hidden jewels in Santiago, is the perfect place to appreciate the international context that supported Salvador Allende´s government by 1970´s, on Museums Resistance phenomenon.

 It´s collection of 500 pieces is product of the important to Chile that inspired artists, which includes Alexandre Calder, Yoko Ono, Frank Stella, Joan Miró and Roberto Matta, among others; settling the museum as one of the best curatorship in Latin America.

 MAVI: Museum of Visual Arts

An exposition space and foundation that opened in 2001. It has a collection of 650 works representing the Chilean artistic activity from the 60s on. The collection included painting, sculpture, graphics, photography and installations, among others. Currently, it has more than 1.400 works by 300 national artists approximately.

The building that houses the MAS and MAVI museums belongs to the Foundation, as well as the Chilean contemporary art collection. The museum building was designed by Chilean architect Cristián Undurraga Saavedra. It is 1.200 m2; out of these, 850 m2 are destined to 6 exhibition halls disposed in different levels and interconnecting through a central space.

 Galería Patricia Ready:

One of the newest art galleries in Santiago. Every month, it´s big and modern infrastructure hosts 360 sqm for exhibitions of the most important contemporary Chilean artists, from the young emerging talent to artists with established careers, both in the country and abroad.

Afterwards, there are a number of smaller galleries in the surrounding area of Nueva Costanera/Alonso de Cordoba with smaller collections that we can visit, depending on the time.

We allow time for a one hour lunch (not included in the price), and can recommend excellent options depending on your preference and taste.

Hotel pick up at 10am, the tour, including an hour long stop for lunch, lasts about 6 hours, with drop off at 4pm. Available Tues – Saturday.
