Market tour & Cooking class
Looking for a Cooking class? Join to our tour and begin visiting Santiago’s main produce and fish markets, La Vega Central and Mercado Central, to witness first-hand the vast variety of fresh ingredients available.
We will pick you up at your hotel in a modern van with driver and food-loving tour guide. Then it’s off to the market district for a short walking tour (can be adjusted based on customer needs) to explore the colors, scents and flavors of the Chilean market scene. Your guide will share some cultural stories with you along the way and you’ll stop for a traditional Chilean drink/snack – just enough to keep you going without ruining your meal!
Next, we head away from Santiago Centro to meet our chef in a modern and professionally-equipped kitchen where you’ll prepare and enjoy a welcome drink. Get hands-on as you learn new recipes and prepare a simple and delicious Chilean meal using fresh products, while the chef divulges some culinary tips and cultural insights. After your collaborative effort, you’ll sit down to enjoy your Chilean feast accompanied by Chilean wines.
The dishes you prepare are easy to replicate at home and perfect for sharing with friends and family. After all, nothing is better following a trip than organizing a social gathering to share the foods, flavors and stories acquired during your visit to a new country. Dishes may change seasonally and can be modified to cater to any dietary restrictions. Just let us know.
Each participant will also receive the recipes of what we prepared that day. Additional options are available for all diets and preferences. Just ask.
